What is the Australian Tactical Medical Association?
About ATMA
ATMA is a not for profit Association that represents the interests of Australians involved in the provision and development of tactical medicine across the spectrum of applications, from the general emergency services response to high threat incidents, right through to highly specialised providers in military, police and other special operations groups.
Our mandate is driven by our memberships enthusiasm to continually improve and provide the highest level of first aid and medical care in austere, dangerous, remote and dynamic environments.
The development of improved capability to save lives is the underlying principle of ATMA, and this is achieved through advice, advocacy, training, networking, collaboration and the annual Australian Tactical Medical Conference.
Continuous Professional Development
ATMA is dedicated to providing contemporary, regular learning opportunities to our membership via webinars. In 2022 ATMA will provided 12 webinars in total covering a range of topics.
Throughout 2023, we have webinars planned 3 weekly
The Live webinars are interactive and give the viewer the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the presenter and host
These webinars remain free for our members to watch live or to access replays via our members only CPD Hub.
Throughout each webinar the attendee has the opportunity to engage in documents and resources from the presentations including further discounts on merchandise.

About your host, Matt Richardson
Matt is an Intensive Care Paramedic who has worked in the health industry for over 23 years in numerous roles. As such, he has had the
opportunity to work in a number of different clinical settings internationally and within Australia. Of note, I have worked within hospital,
community and education settings. Matt bring an energetic, authentic leadership style that is reflected in my dealings across the spectrum of colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
Matt actively models the values of leadership, integrity, personal drive and professional behaviour whilst maintaining a firm focus on
ensuring colleagues perceive me as being non-judgmental and approachable at all times, no matter how trivial or serious a topic may be.
Matt is a Registered Nurse, Registered Paramedic, has a Graduate Certificate in Tactical Medicine and is Currently Studying a Masters
degree in Terrorism and Security Services.
Matt has been the National CPD Manager for the Australian Tactical Medical Association since 2019 and has a passion and drive for
ensuring best patient care in Tactical, Austere and High Threat Environments.
